Entry requirements for Angola
You do not need a visa to visit Angola for tourism for up to 30 days.
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the date you arrive in Angola.
Your passport must have at least 2 blank pages on arrival.
You will need a yellow fever vaccination certificate for some onward travel, including to South Africa.
You must declare cash or travellers cheques if the value is 5,000 US dollars or more when entering.
Good to know:
You cannot take out more than 5,000 US dollars or its equivalent in foreign currency when leaving.
You can take out up to 50,000 kwanzas in cash in addition to the foreign currency allowance.
Safety in Angola
Angola is tourist-friendly but has some key cultural and legal rules:
Muggers in Luanda can be armed, so hand over your money and valuables immediately if you are attacked.
Be careful withdrawing money from banks and ATMs as you could be followed and robbed.
Keep valuables out of sight in cars in Luanda as theft from vehicles is common.
Carry identification or a copy of your passport at all times to avoid on-the-spot fines.
Avoid using cameras or binoculars near government buildings to prevent having your equipment confiscated.

Do not walk between bars and restaurants on the Ilha do Cabo area.
Travelling alone at night is not recommended due to reported incidents of sexual assault in nightlife areas.
