Entry requirements for Cyprus
UK nationals do not need a visa to visit Cyprus for tourism for up to 90 days.
Your passport must have been issued less than 10 years before your arrival date and must be valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave.
Ensure your passport has at least one blank page for an entry or exit stamp.
Be prepared to show a return or onward ticket and proof of sufficient funds for your stay at border control.
Make sure your passport is stamped on entry and exit, and if it is missing a stamp, show evidence like boarding passes to have it corrected.
Good to know:
If you travel to the north of Cyprus, the time spent there counts towards your 90-day visa-free total for the whole island.
You cannot take meat, milk, or products containing them into Cyprus, with exceptions for specific baby foods and medical pet feed.
Safety in Cyprus
Cyprus is tourist-friendly but has some key cultural and legal rules:
Personal attacks, including sexual assaults, are infrequent but do happen, with drug-assisted rape being a risk.
Avoid taking photographs near sensitive areas, such as military buildings, as you could be arrested.
While bathing is generally safe, there can be strong waves and currents, so always follow warning signs and only swim on approved beaches.
Driving standards are poor and there is an increased risk of road deaths compared to the UK.
If you hire a vehicle, ensure it is in good condition and roadworthy, as hire companies renting mopeds and quad bikes usually only provide third-party insurance.

Avoid splitting up from your friends and always keep sight of your own drinks to mitigate the risk of drink spiking.

The US and Iran announced a memorandum of understanding on 17 June.
