You must have a visa to visit Honduras, unless you are a cruise ship passenger disembarking only during the ship's docking hours.

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after you arrive and have at least 2 blank pages.

You will receive a 30-day entry stamp in your passport on arrival, and you must ensure you get this stamp to avoid a fine.

You can apply to extend your stay at an immigration office, as overstaying may result in a fine you must pay before leaving.

You must complete the online customs declaration form before entering or leaving and present the QR code to customs.

If you arrive or depart by land, you must pay a 3 US dollar border fee and keep the receipt.

Travellers aged 20 and under travelling alone or with only one parent need a notarised parental letter in Spanish.

Be very careful of petty theft in cities and tourist areas like the Bay Islands, especially at bus stations, airports, beaches and on public transport.

Use only ATMs inside shopping centres or recommended by your hotel, check for tampering, and avoid withdrawing large amounts or at night.

Always carry a copy of your passport photo and visa pages with you as ID, and keep the original in a safe place.

Avoid travelling on public buses due to armed attacks, violent muggings, and assaults; use radio-dispatched or hotel taxis or private coach services instead.

Lock vehicle doors, keep windows closed, and avoid travelling after dark, especially in remote areas or on routes known for attacks.

Do not participate in any protests or political activities as it is illegal for foreigners and can lead to detention and deportation.

Make sure you have all documents for your hotel, car rental, or tours handy as local authorities may stop you to check your travel plans.
