You can visit Kosovo without a visa for up to 90 days, for business or tourism.

Your passport must be valid for the duration of your stay and does not need any additional validity beyond this.

You will be denied entry if you do not have a valid travel document or try to use a passport that has been reported lost or stolen.

If you plan to stay in Kosovo for longer than 90 days, you will need to register with the Ministry of Internal Affairs for a residence permit.

You cannot travel from Kosovo to Serbia without a Serbian entry stamp from specified airports or border crossings with neighbouring countries.

Officials may ask you to provide documentary evidence giving a reason for your stay or showing you have sufficient finances.

There are strict rules about goods you can take into or out of Kosovo, and you must declare anything that may be prohibited or subject to tax or duty.

Carry your passport with you for identification and keep a separate copy in a safe place.

Be aware that illegal drugs carry severe penalties, including long jail sentences and heavy fines.

Only travel in pre-booked or registered taxis and be wary of unofficial vehicles that approach you for a fare.

Protect yourself from pickpockets by not wearing expensive-looking jewellery or watches and avoiding isolated areas, especially at night.

Avoid taking photographs of military or police installations, personnel, or vehicles to prevent difficulties with the authorities.

Check that your hire car company allows travel in Kosovo, as some Serbian firms restrict this due to security concerns.

Ensure you have a locally valid vehicle insurance policy, as European green card insurance is not valid in Kosovo.
