Montenegro Beach Holidays

You can visit Montenegro without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180-day period.

Your passport must have been issued less than 10 years ago and be valid for at least 3 months after your planned departure date.

All visitors must register with the local tourism office or police within 24 hours of arrival.

Make sure your passport is stamped on entry and exit to prove the length of your stay.

Visits to other EU or Schengen countries do not count towards your 90-day visa-free limit in Montenegro.

You must declare cash or travellers cheques if the value is 10,000 euros or more when you enter.

You cannot take meat, milk or products containing them into Montenegro, with limited exceptions.

Always carry a form of ID such as your photocard driving licence or passport to avoid a fine.

Use a hotel safe for valuables and be wary of pickpockets in tourist spots, beaches, airports and on public transport.

Only use officially licensed taxis, check the price per kilometre or agree on the full fare in advance to avoid overcharging.

Take note of warning signs on beaches and follow lifeguard instructions, taking local advice on hazards like jellyfish.

When renting vehicles for activities like jet-skis or quad bikes, ensure you have the appropriate licence and insurance.

Make sure cigarette ends are properly extinguished and do not light fires or barbecues except in designated areas to prevent wildfires.

When crossing roads, use designated crossings as you can be fined for crossing within 100 metres of one without using it.
