Namibia Beach Holidays

From 1 April 2025 you will need a visa to visit Namibia.

You can apply for a visa on arrival at a Port of Entry or apply online for an e-visa before you travel, with a cost of 1,600 Namibian dollars for travellers over 11 years old.

Your passport must have an expiry date at least 6 months after the date you arrive in Namibia and at least 3 blank pages.

Make sure the date on your entry stamp and the amount of time you have been given to stay is correct, as officials check these when you leave.

The visa on arrival is a multiple entry visa valid for the period that you have requested.

Travellers with children aged 17 and under must carry the child's valid passport and a full birth certificate with both parents' details (original or certified copy).

If you are arriving from a country listed as a yellow fever transmission risk, you must have a certificate to prove you've had a yellow fever vaccination to enter Namibia.

Keep your valuables and cash out of sight and use a hotel safe to protect against muggings that target tourists in Windhoek.

Do not leave your vehicle unattended at fuel stops as theft from vehicles at service stations is common.

Keep car doors locked and windows shut in heavy traffic to prevent gangs trying to enter vehicles at busy intersections.

Do not hail taxis from the street in Windhoek; ask your hotel or tour operator to recommend a reputable company.

Always carry photo ID as you may need to show it at police checkpoints in Windhoek and other major towns.

Check your travel insurance covers adventure activities like quad biking or hot air ballooning.

Be aware that conservative attitudes towards LGBT+ individuals mean showing affection in public may attract unwanted attention, especially in rural areas.
