Entry requirements for Oman
You can visit Oman for up to 14 days without a visa.
Your passport must have an expiry date at least 6 months after the date you arrive in Oman.
To avoid the risk of refusal for a longer stay, apply for an 'unsponsored visit visa' online before you travel.
At border control, you must be able to show a ticket for return or onward travel, proof of accommodation, and proof of travel health insurance.
You must have a yellow fever vaccination certificate if you are arriving from Rwanda, Tanzania, or a listed country at risk of transmission.
Good to know:
Carry a copy of your prescription if you are bringing medicine, as some UK medicines are illegal in Oman.
You must declare anything that may be prohibited or subject to tax or duty when going through customs.
Safety in Oman
Oman is tourist-friendly but has some key cultural and legal rules:
You can buy and drink alcohol in licensed venues but it is illegal to drink in public or be drunk in public.
Dress modestly in public by covering your arms and legs, and only wear beachwear on tourist beaches or at pools.
Do not eat, drink, smoke or chew gum in public during the daytime in Ramadan.
Always carry a copy of your passport's photo page and keep the original safe.
You can use a UK photocard driving licence for the first 6 weeks after arrival to drive a rental car.
