Entry requirements for Pakistan
You need a visa to visit Pakistan and you must apply in advance.
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the date of your visa application.
Make sure you get your passport stamped on entry to Pakistan to avoid difficulties leaving.
You must have an unexpired visa, a Pakistani national identity card, or a Pakistani passport to leave Pakistan.
If your visa has expired, apply online for an exit permit from within Pakistan before attempting to travel.
Good to know:
Importing alcohol or pork products into Pakistan is illegal and could lead to detention.
If travelling with a child as a single parent or are not the child's parent, you may need documentary evidence of parental responsibility before leaving, especially if the child is of Pakistani origin.
Safety in Pakistan
Pakistan is tourist-friendly but has some key cultural and legal rules:
Always carry photo ID with you, as you might be detained until you can show valid identification.
Dress modestly in public, covering your shoulders and legs, and women should cover their heads when entering mosques and in rural areas.
Do not eat, drink, smoke, or chew gum in public during daylight hours in the month of Ramadan.
Be aware that street crime is a risk, so take sensible measures to guard your possessions, especially in crowded areas.
Avoid using the railway network, public buses, and street taxis due to the risk of terrorist attacks and crime; use only reputable licensed taxi companies.

Be cautious about public comments, including on social media, as insulting religion (blasphemy) is illegal and can lead to severe penalties and public violence.
Do not take photos of military installations, airports, or infrastructure, or of people without their permission, as you could be arrested on suspicion of spying.
