Tunisia Beach Holidays

You can visit Tunisia without a visa for up to 90 days.

Your passport should be valid for the duration of your stay.

Border officials will stamp your passport on arrival and check the length of your stay on departure.

On arrival, border officials may ask for your contact details, onward or return travel tickets, and proof of accommodation.

You will need to pay a hotel tax upon arrival, which amounts to 8 to 12 Tunisian Dinars per person per night for a maximum of ten nights.

You must declare any goods that may be prohibited or subject to tax or duty when entering Tunisia.

If you bring foreign currency into Tunisia, you are required to pay a stamp duty of 10 Tunisian Dinars regardless of the amount declared.

The most common crime is theft, so don't display expensive items or leave them unattended in public.

You must carry ID, such as a copy of your passport's photo page, as security officials can ask for it at any time.

Beach clothing is fine in resorts, but dress modestly when visiting religious sites or remote areas.

During Ramadan, eating, drinking, or smoking in public during the day can cause offence, though resort rules are more relaxed.

Be aware of increased reports of sexual harassment and assault, particularly in busy public places at night and quieter parks and beaches during the day in summer.

On Fridays, supermarkets cannot sell alcohol, but you can still order it in hotels and bars.

Do not take photographs of or near government buildings or military sites.
